Let's talk shirts...

Hello everyone!

Hard to believe Autumn is upon us. Lots of you might be the same but I see September as my New Year. It starts from going back to school all those years ago as a student and then transitioning into getting kids ready for school after long lazy summers. Each September I make resolutions which are, without exception, broken within two weeks. This year was the promise to walk every morning. I've done a few... very few!!!!

With Autumn comes another new collection - Autumn Winter 2020. I wanted this collection to be all about comfort - elevated comfort. Pieces that we can pair with jeans/joggers/fav trousers. I'm sure you'll agree, I don't see any of us going too far for the next few months so my aim was to create a collection that can be worn at home, where we can feel good about ourselves - a little dressed up but comfort is key.

When I started RF, we featured a collection of cotton shirts that were a sell out and for years afterwards we had customers asking us to bring them back, so we have. 100% cotton shirting in various shapes but all super flattering and comfortable. I'm not a fan of the traditional collar shirt, I find it often unflattering and uninteresting. With that in mind, some are collarless, some have an oversized collar and some have a mandarin collar. I want our shirts to be stylish and highly versatile. Dress them up and dress them down. I want the ability to layer under a sweater for example and but for them to still be seen and make a statement.

I want to be able to wear under a business suit and look sharp and slick or a Tuxedo jacket to look stylish and sexy for dinner.

I want to team up with a full skirt and little jacket and wear to a Black Tie event - thank you Jenna Lyons for the endless inspiration.

At the end of the day a white shirt is the ultimate classic piece. I'm not sure you can ever have enough and with the utmost modesty, my Mother is a testament to that - elegant and understated and is rarely seen not wearing a white shirt. It's just one of those classic pieces that simply does not go out of fashion.

At the heart of everything we do, it is important that these pieces work for you. They have to be seasonless, timeless and long lasting.
