  • Sunuva, where were you when I needed you?

Sunuva is a luxury children’s swimwear brand I discovered recently and immediately feel in love with.  The designs are colourful, tasteful, stylish and at the same time maintain the charm and innocence of how kidswear should be.

For girls who embrace beach chic, bold watermelon and tropical prints are sure to make a statement, while those who are more whimsical will adore the boho-inspired and Mexican folk prints. For boys, intrepid explorers will love the camo star, toucan and crocodile prints inspired by the jungles of Costa Rica, whilst classic linens and chic Riviera prints are a must for snappy dressers. The collection also boasts a range of stunning accessories including cool caps, pretty espadrilles and beach bags, as well an expanded sizing range with selected prints now available for babies aged 3-6 months.

Best of all however is that Sunuva is proud to have its UPF 50+ swimwear range validated by the British Skin Foundation, the UK’s leading researcher of skin disease and cancer.  The swimwear is made from the highest quality fabric which blocks out over 97% of the sun’s harmful rays and meetings stringent Australian / New Zealand guidelines.

Gone are the days of horrid navy or black protection suits that made my kids loathed wearing and for a very good reason….

  • Hey!

It’s been in my wardrobe for many years - the breton striped t-shirt. A perfect basic, classic, easy to combine and a strong history.

The traditional breton striped shirt in fine knit with a 3/4 sleeve or longer, a boat neck and has 21 navy and white stripes. Each stripe represents one of Napoleon’s victories.

The Breton stripe was designed for French sailors - The stripe to help find sea-men who fell overboard. It then went on to be officially added to the uniform of the French marines.

The legend that is Coco Chanel then got involved. She fell in love with the look of the sailors (would ya blame her?!) and was often seen wearing the stripes and added them into her collections. This was in the 60’s with the likes of icons such as Marilyn Monroe, Jackie O, Brigette Bardot and Picasso often spotted donning stripes - today a wardrobe staple.

Our new collection of Breton Featherlight Cashmere Sweaters are a very natural addition to the Rae Feather brand - with simplicity comes longevity. Classic pieces with staying power that will take you everywhere, through every season. I hope you love the colours - Pink is my fav!!

    Happy Weekend! xxx

    Quote of the week

A Note from Rae: Happy 2016!

We are so excited about this year! We had a great 2015 and were overwhelmed by the reception of our new accessories collection and the AW15 collection with a sell out in so many styles.

The monogram program proved to be very popular and we have lots of new products/ accessories under development. I will fill you in on what's coming in the next few weeks.

Finally, it's getting colder. In addition, ski season is upon us and there’s no better way to warm up than with your favourite cashmere.

For those who are unfamiliar with our Featherlight collection, this is a yarn which we developed specifically for us. I wanted something that I could layer and wear with a coat that didn't create bulk, overheating and discomfort. Thus was born the Featherlight.

These pieces are so lightweight, you barely know you're wearing them however they layer beautifully and you'll instantly feel cosy.

The Crew Neck Sweaters are particularly brilliant for skiing as they allow for layering and look  smart and sporty at the same time.

The Featherlight scarves are a wardrobe essential. They fold up really small, weigh nothing and are the perfect travel companion. Again, perfect for skiing as they are so light yet super effective.

    Happy January!!

    Rae X

  • I know, too early but over the last few days I have found myself not far from a cashmere scarf - Bank Holiday weekend was like mid Winter - positively glum however getting back into winter clothes is kind of exciting - sorry summer lovers!

New colours are available in our best selling Crew Neck Featherlight Cashmere Sweater. I love the chambray which looks great with a simple white layering T or our bib shirt. These also look great with matching featherlight scarves...

The new Pocketed Lottie Cashmere Tunic and the Ribbed Roll Neck Cashmere Tabard are the ultimate in comfort and are really flattering -  both look great with skinny jeans and are very happy to fib for you.

For day to evening try the Waterfall Cashmere Sweater - great with a pair of Palazzo pants or even your fav black trousers.  We have of course continued the Draped Cashmere Cardigan which is a great investment and perfect for Autumn.

If there is a colour we don’t have in the Lottie, the Waterfall or the draped cardi, please let us know and we can make for you.

  • I discovered Hammam Towels many years ago on a trip to Turkey and ever since have been a collector. The Hammam Towel was and is a large part of the Turkish life. They have been a tradition in the Turkish baths for centuries, are used on a daily basis within households and on special occasions... at the ceremonial bathing of a bride before she got married.  I loved the colours, the simplicity, the softness  the ease of use. So we recently  launched our own collection of  towels. They seemed like the perfect partner next to the monogrammed baskets. They come in a variety of colours and if you wish they too can be monogrammed - also a great present.

    The Rae Feather Hammam Towel

    • Our Hammam towels are made in Turkey and are 100% cotton, making them super soft and great quality
    • They’re perfect for when you jump out the shower, they’re a generous size and they’re super absorbent - Not to mention the amazing colours they come in!
    • The towels are perfect for when you’re travelling as they are light weight and compact, taking up only the room of a t-shirt in your suitcase
    • They can be used on the beach, as a bed throw, a table cloth or table runner and a bikini cover up/sarong

There is no need to clog up your linen closet with thick and spongy towels, use our thin and colourful Hammam towels to spice up your bathroom and maybe even go all out and personalise them x

  • Hello All, our blogs are back and I am excited to announce that, to kick start your weekend by positing every Friday. I hope you enjoy them.

I am really pleased to announce that today we launch our Autumn/Winter collection for 2015. Lots of exciting things going on and lots to share!

The monogram basket and clutch has been this summers “It Bag” – quite an accolade which we are thrilled about. These continue to be really popular and we have lots of exciting developments to come.

Our monogram cashmere wraps are a winter must have! These will be available in two weeks in an array of fantastic colours and perfect for any season.

  • Hampstead Heath

Walking through the untouched space of countryside in the heart of London is the perfect getaway from the busy streets of this city. It’s one of my favourite places to visit from Spring through to Autumn. I love to watch the leaves change from a perfect country green to an Autumn burnt orange while strolling through some of the heaths most winding footpaths.
