I never realised until I had my dog three years ago how wonderful and relaxing walks can be. It now seems funny to me that I never went for evening strolls until I had my precious, Barney.

The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari

This inspiring tale is based on the author’s own search forlife’s true purpose, providing a step-by-step approach to living with greater courage, balance, abundance and joy.

It tells the story of Julian Mantle, a lawyer forced to confront the spiritual crisis of his out-of-balance life: following a heart attack, he decides to sell all his beloved possessions and trek to India. On a life-changing odyssey to an ancient culture, he meets Himalayan gurus who offer powerful, wise and practical lessons that teach us to:

    - Develop joyful thoughts
    - Follow our life’s mission
    - Cultivate self-discipline and act courageously
    - Value time as our most important commodity
    - Nourish our relationships
    - Live fully, one day at a time

A real treat. Fab food, fab decor and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Really worth a visit. Highlight of my visit were the exquisite Sipsmith Gin and Vodka dispensers...

    A note from Rae:

With the party season almost upon us, we are very excited about the arrival of our party wear which will launch next week. The Catherine Reversible Swarvoski Cardigan is my favourite. Available in Light Grey Marl, Navy and Black. It’s so very elegant and the perfect easy to wear piece. In stock next week. The much awaited Lenny Silk Shirt and Audrey Silk Satin Contrast Blouse will also arrive next week. They will comfortably take you from day into evening and are available in Black and Vintage Cream.

Due to popular demand we have decided to reopen the shop in Quinta do Lago for a week weeks, 24th November - 13th December 2014. Christmas decorations, party wear and lots of festive cheer. To celebrate we’re having a Christmas Party on the 8th December if you’re around please pop over for a glass of mulled wine and mince pies.

For all those who live locally here in England, I would like to invite you to our Sample Sale on the 27th November at the Green Room in Brackley, NN13 7EP. Lots of great bargains to be had.

Anyway wrap up warm, it’s getting chilly and have a wonderful weekend!!

Autumn is by far my favourite season. I love that nip in the air, the light, the colours, the darker nights, open fires and cashmere!

A few weeks ago I was having breakfast with a friend talking about children's education and she told me about a lecture she had listened to on Ted Talks to by Sir Ken Robinson (I'll come back to Ken Robinson).

  • What would be your 5 key tips to taking great style shots?

    1) Rarely do baggy tops and baggy bottoms complement one another, so therefore will not show you in your best light. A tailored pair of cropped trousers worn with slouchy knitwear, or a loose shirt, bare ankles and slip-on flats is always a good look.

Is it just me or are our weather patterns all over the place. One minute we are in short sleeve T’s and the next wrapped in cashmere. Last weekend we had frost!

Autumn is upon is. Sad always to say good-bye to Summer. Summer, to me, says freedom – no school, very little routine, very little time keeping, ice cold Rose, salads and sun kissed faces...
